Logistics

• MD on Sunday, WD on Saturday
• MXD 3.5 Sunday, MXD 4.0 Saturday
• Will send an email about scheduling either by 1/7/2026 or when divisions fill up, whichever happens first.
  • Full refunds provided up to 1/3/2026. After that, credit will be granted unless the tournament is canceled due to weather or similar reasons
• Location: Palomares Park Community Center, 499 E Arrow Hwy, Pomona, CA 91767
  • Parking – Street & Park parking is readily available
• Ball: Franklin X-40
• SPECIAL 50+ signup rules
• Scores are NOT reported to DUPR
• Winners get $$, depending on number of entries (see rules for more details). This assumes a minimum of 10 entrants. Prizes and tournament format may change if less than 10 entrants.
  • FIRST: $100-$200 cash + next tournament entry free
  • SECOND: $30-$60 cash + next tournament entry free
  • THIRD: Next tournament entry free
• Warmup
  • There may not be courrts available to warmup.
  • I suggest warming up elsewhere (Las Flores Park & Wheeler Park are fairly close) and showing up 15-20 minutes before start time
• TBD which division is on which day – depends on # of signups for each division.

Divisions

8+

• MD – 2.5, 3.0
• WD – 2.5, 4.5
• MXD: 3.5, 4.0

• No players on a team may be more than .499 than the division they are entering. For example, if entering 3.5 *nobody may be above 3.999
  • *For those aged 50+, you may enter a division .999 instead. For example, if players aged 50+ with a DUPR up to 4.499 may enter the 3.5
  • In the future, there WILL be separate 50+ and 60+ events.

Tournament Format

Group Stage

Playoffs:

Players advancing to the playoffs will be determined by RECORD, POINTS, THEN H2H

Semifinals

• 15 points, win by 2
• “Rock, Paper, Scissors” or “1 or 2” can be played to determine serve/side
• Switch sides at 8
• 1 timeout per team

Rules

1. Moneyball – $30 early bird (ends 12/26), $35 (registration closes 1/6/2026)

2. Refunds
   • No refund provided after TBD (credit towards future tournaments will be granted)
   • Full refunds granted if weather or other factors prevent play
3. # of teams is CAPPED per division. Teams that sign up for a full division will be fully refunded and contacted
4. Sandbagging Prevention
   If you do not have a DUPR and are clearly sandbagging, your team will be ineligible and refunded proportionally to the number of games you have played to the # of games in your group
   1. If you have medaled in a division that is the lowest division you may enter
      • Example: If you’ve medaled in 4.0 but your DUPR is 3.7 the lowest you may enter is 4.0
   2. If you have played a division (or higher) 3x or more the lowest division you may enter is .5 below that unless you’ve medaled in them (RE rule #1)
      • Example: If you’ve played 4.5 3 times but your DUPR is 3.7 the lowest you may enter is 4.0
      • Example #2: If you’ve played 4.5 2 times and 5.0 1 time but your DUPR is 3.7 the lowest you may enter is 4.0
   3. 50+: The same logic applies to you but you are given an additional .5 threshold
      • Example: If you’ve medaled in 4.0 but your DUPR is 3.7 the lowest you may enter is 3.5
      • Example: If you’ve played 4.5 3 times but your DUPR is 3.7 the lowest you may enter is 3.5
5. The tournament will start promptly. If you’re more than 5 minutes late you will forfeit the first match
